ABOUT THE WORKSHOPS

An introduction to prosthetics & makeup FX

Our prosthetics & makeup FX workshops cover a range of subjects from mould making and prosthetic application to creature design and silicone prosthetics. They are designed for various skill levels and tend to be between two days and three weeks and pack as much learning into the time available as possible.

Hi, Davy Jones MakeupSFX here with some news for all you enthusiasts. Whether you are a beginner or simply just need to brush up on your skills and new materials , then these courses are for you.

Module 1: Recreating Wounds for HD

This will include the following:

Sculpting and texturing, clays ,tools , and prepping for moulding
Running the flat plate moulds
Running the silicon pieces ,colour matching and pigmentation.
Bondo and and Transfare for speed and the right prosthetic for the right job.
Application and artwork
Photos , Removel and cleanup

Module 2 & 3: Character Noses

This will include the following:

Casting a partial face cast.
Running a resin positive for your sculpt.
Designing, Sculpting and texturing your nose.
Prep for moulding, claying up, and cutting edges, and undercuts .
Running silicon and gelatine and pre pigmenting the piece.
Application and artwork
Photographing and recap
Removel and clean up

Module 4: Eye Bags & Swelling

This will include the following:

Casting a partial face cast and running a positive in a fast cast resin.
Sculpting a swollen eye and cheek or Ageing Eye bags and crows feet .
Running silicon and gelatine and pre pigmenting the piece.
Application and artwork
Photographing and recap
Removel and clean up

Module 5: The Brow

This will include the following:

Casting a Partial face cast and brow .
Running a fast cast resin positive for your sculpt.
Designing, Sculpting and texturing your brow weather zombie or old age
Prep for moulding, claying up, and cutting edges.
Running silicon and gelatine and pre pigmenting the piece.
Application and artwork
Photographing and recap
Removel and clean up

Each weekend you will build your skills towards creating character makeups ...getting to grips with 2 part moulds, plaster, resin and composites and all current materials.

Course Price

The Fee for each weekend course is £350 This includes all off your materials.
